Week 33

33 weeks down and seven left to go!  It really is just not going fast enough.
I'm so ready to get this show on the road... and to be off work for a couple months.
I could use a break from work. Even if it is to take care of a child.

  • How far along?: 33 Weeks
  • Baby is the size of a: Durian Fruit, which apparently tastes and smells disgusting... 4.2-5.8 lbs of baby and about 17.2-18.7in long.
  • Total weight gain/loss: I'll find out on Wednesday but I should be up around 20 lbs (Update: Up 20.2lbs... so right on track.  Dr said I should gain a total of 25-27lbs.  Cross your fingers!)
  • Symptoms: Some nice jabs to my lower right side since that's the only side he likes.  Also major heartburn.  Really sucks to sleep when all that's going on.  Luckily when I have medicine and don't run out it seems to be okay.
  • Sleep: It's okay
  • What I miss: Not feeling like an alien is trying to kick his way out of my stomach constantly.
  • Movement: That's an understatement.
  • Maternity Clothes: Trying really hard to wear my non maternity clothes but honestly I'm pretty sure everyone who looks at me  probably thinks, "that girl really needs some new clothes, can she not afford it?"  No, it's not that bad, just running out of cute, work appropriate option.
  • Labor Signs: Nada.
  • Best Moment of the Week:  Breastfeeding class? It was okay I suppose, but nothing else too exciting going on around here.  Glad to have the nursery finished and ready to go.  I'm running out of things that need to be finished.
  • What I’m excited about/looking forward to: Honestly, I just want this child out!

April Wrap Up

We're finally approaching 33 weeks, (tomorrow that is) and in a way it's going really fast, and somehow also feeling super slow.  It's been a busy couple of weeks and I feel like I've gotten a ton done but still feeling like a have so many things left to do.  It's just very up and down.  Regardless, it feels good to know there are only 50 days left 'till our due date and it's very exciting!
Here is a picture recap of the last couple of weeks:

Mom and Mother-in-Law at the baby shower
The only picture of any decoration I really got.  It's a bummer I only got this one because Aunt Nancy did such an amazing job decorating the whole house. Even in the pictures above we had tons on cute decorations but we took them down before we took the pictures... bad planning on our part. =(

Jeff even snuck in a couple of gifts of his own.  Very unexpected and very cool.  Since he's doing an Ironman in August he bought a matching outfit for baby.  Along with an ESPN outfit because he didn't buy it I wouldn't have. No doubt that's going to be one of the first outfits Jeff puts baby in when he gets the chance.

Finally, we did get a great picture of the three pregnant girlies at the shower.  It's so fun we all get to be pregnant together.  So far two out of three of us are having boys, so here's to hoping for a third!

After I got home from the shower I literally put everything away that afternoon.  I also put together most things... I just can't help myself.  I can't see things around the house that need to be done and not do them.  Very OCD.  I did get a little help from Jeff the following day with a couple of things because honestly I was so pooped at the end of the shower day I could barely keep my eyes open.  But it was a great time! =)

And, lastly, my latest pregnancy achievement, my burnt croutons from this weekend.  I had some left over bread I wanted to use up and usually I just make croutons with it.  Most of the time they look like this --> Good Croutons Link.  But yesterday they turned out like bellow.  Completely charred all the way to the core.  Pregnancy brain?  Who knows, I blame it on the Kardashians which I was watching while I had these in the oven until all the sudden I saw smoke coming from the kitchen.
This was the fastest I've gotten off the couch in a long time.  Before I even opened the oven there was smoke coming out from every side, even the top by the cooktop.  I quickly opened every single window and door upstairs, turned the oven off and finally opened the oven only to have so much smoke come out that I litterally could not see more than a couple feet in front of me.  So I ran to the smoke detector with a towel and fanned it for like forever hoping it wouldn't go off.  It didn't, thank goodness.  I took probably about  36 hours to clear out the smell of burt out of the house...
Stupid Kardashians; so entertaining I burnt my croutons.

Hubby's Chocolate Strawberry Filled Cupcakes

Last week as I was sitting at work late at night I thought about how I was craving some chocolate dessert.  Of course, by the time I would have gotten home close to midnight the only thing I would really be making was a microwave smore. (which is still pretty good)  I mentioned something to Jeff about how he should just come up with a new recipe, not really thinking he would, or that maybe he would just make brownies, which would have been pretty satisfying either way.  But, when I got home I found this!

I mean, seriously, do I not have an awesome hubby or what?  All home made from scratch.  A chocolate strawberry jam filled cake/cupcake/brownie with an orange zest foam.  And of course it just wouldn't be the same without a champagne glass full of milk for the preggo lady. =) Best of all, it was delicious.

I mean, even the plating was great.  He paid very close attention to detail.  Just like going our to a fancy restaurant.  Come to find out he spent a couple of hours in the kitchen slaving away.  The dishes were even done and the kitchen was clean.  What more could a wife ask for. Lucky lady I am. =)

If you want to try and make this too I did ask for the recipe.  You can find it HERE.

And on a separate note, I am now on BlogLovin if you wanna follow me and all your other favorite blogs.

30 Weeks

30 Weeks and 75% done! Woo!
Not much of a change since last week but it's so nice to know we are at the home stretch.  Not that much longer until we get to see our little nugget.   We started going to the Dr. every two weeks now so I feel like it should go by faster.  Hopefully less than ten weeks because I'm already getting ancy.

  • How far along?: 30 Weeks
  • Baby is the size of a: Large cucumber. 15.2- to 16.7-inch and 2.5- to 3.8-pound baby; although since last week we were already at 3.3 I'm assuming he's on the bigger end.
  • Total weight gain/loss: 14-17 depending on the day
  • Symptoms: Getting majorly kicked on all sides... other than that it's pretty good.
  • Sleep: Getting better.
  • What I miss: Not feeling like a whale... and generally not feeling kicking.  I don't know why women love it so much but I'm not one of them.
  • Movement: I think he might be practicing his karate skills in there... who knows. At least he seems to sleep when I sleep.
  • Maternity Clothes: Still wearing my favorite motherhood maternity skinny jeans in all three colors.
  • Labor Signs: Nada.
  • Best Moment of the Week:  Our ultrasound last Monday was great.  He's getting chubbier in there and his heart (which they couldn't see very well last time) looked great.
  • What I’m excited about/looking forward to: Baby shower this weekend!

Snapseed Iphone App

After downloading a million photo editing apps on my iphone I finally found one that I love. It's as close as you're gonna get to a professional editing software and best of all it's free.  Check out Snapseeds' website for how-to's.  It does take a little bit to get the hang of the app.  It's very detailed and lets you do a lot with your pictures but after messing around with it a couple times is gets much easier.
Check out my before and after.

Taking pictures with your iphone is such a pain sometimes.  I never feel like indoor pictures turn out great.  I took this in a pretty well lit room and still the above picture was pretty dark.  Snapseed lets you control the brightness as a whole and just certain sections depending on what you want the finished product to look like.

....not to mention all the other cool things it can do.
(...and yes, that is a a creepy looking doll. We just got it from my mother-in-law.
Apparently it was Jeffs... Still very creepy)

What do you think?  Will you be downloading Snapseed?
