Bachelorette Party Weekend

Geez, what a weekend it was.  A long weekend full of lots of shennanigans, lots of sister bonding time and fun girly activities.  Oh ya, and way too much traveling.   I flew out Thursday to San Diego, spent some time with my sister and then drove out to Phoenix.  Spent a couple days there, took the wedding party to a barre class,  rented an airbnb which was an awesome idea, and celebrated my sisters wedding.   Drove back to San Diego, lost my wedding ring, *yikes*, rained the whole time, lost all hope, found it again in the morning! and finally went to the airport to head back home.  All in a long weekends time.  I'm tired just thinking about it.  I'm pretty sure I didn't get more than a couple hours of sleep each night.  We partied way too hard and had some good laughs, but mostly we're just ready for the wedding!

Peyton - 23 Weeks Old

Noah 24 Weeks

Poor Peyton just wont even match up to the same amount of updates I did with Noah.  I guess that's normal for kid number two, right? Time is passing much more quickly this time around.  I don't know if we're just handling it better since we know what we're doing or if it's just busier around here. Either way, it seems like it was just yesterday that we were getting up in the middle of the night, or at home on maternity leave... but here we are, and he's so old.

I'm loving this picture right now.  I even have it as my wallpaper on my computer at work.  I love looking at that little smile every morning.  We're in full Valentines Days mode at our house thanks to Noah and his love for our colored Hue lights.  We've decorated the main floor up and down and I even bought matching outfits for the boys.  I do love me some Valentines Day. Anyway, back to Peyton:

  • How old is Peyton?: 23 Weeks
  • Peyton is how big?:  17.5 lbs | Size 3 diapers | 6-9mo clothes
  • Sleep: ...and we're still swaddling.  Both arms out.  I really feel like we could do without but I'm to chicken to do it in the middle of the night thinking it might ruin the nice sleep we get.  We'll get there, right?  Otherwise the schedule is still the same for the day and runs smoothly most of the time.  He definitely naps much longer than Noah did and therefore less naps.... which really works out great.
Up for the day between 7-8
 Nap an hour later
 Nap 1: 1.5-2 hrs
 Up for 1.25 ish hours
 Nap 2: 1.5-2 hrs
 Up for 1.25 ish hours
 Nap 3: 1-1.5 hrs
 Up until about 7p
Down for the night around 7-7:30p
  • Milestones: We continue to add solid foods.  He's pretty good at eating mostly everything, or eventually after a couple times gives in.  We've transitioned from sitting in the walker to actually moving around the house and it's probably my most favorite accomplishment so far.  It's just so fun having him move around and you can tell he's just happy to not be on the floor.   But really, he needs to stop puking on the tray 'cause I'm sick of cleaning it up.  Baby puke is the worst.
  • What I’m excited about/looking forward to: Non baby related I'm super excited to fly into California this weekend for my sisters Bachelorette party.  We've got a lot of fun things planned not to mention a road trip to Arizona and lots of fun Bachelorette activities. Oh, and kid free.  Not to mention non frozen weather which is always a plus.

Our Christmas Week

We should really call it our Christmas Weeks plural, because we pretty much celebrated for two full weeks. It was crazy, and busy, and fun, and so exhausting and we had a great time but work never looked so good.  Did I say how exhausting it was?  We started out sick, first me, then Noah, then Jeff and then I'm pretty sure we passed it on to about ten people in our family.  There was a lot of throw up, night showers, puking in toilets and lots of laundry.  Some of us missed parts of days sleeping and the other ones took care of other people.  It was tough.  But in the middle of it all we did get to hang out and enjoy each other and have fun times.  Luckily for all of us, no one had too much food this holiday since we were all sick so at least we're starting the new year without a couple extra pounds.  Gotta find the good things in in life.

We started our Christmas at home opening presents just the four of us.  Of course Noah and Peyton both decided to sleep in even though I was up bright and early.  Santa must have done a good job because Noah seemed pleased even though he didn't get much from his Christmas list. Peyton had no idea what was going on but was a good sport and let Noah play with his toy.  We had a visit from Santa and went to family's house to spend a couple days with other family. We opened way too many gifts and stocking stuffers and finally made it back home.

The last couple days of break we spent recovering from all the madness and I finally feel like I accomplished things.  We got all the laundry done and folded, caught up on cleaning and took down all of the Christmas decorations which was a huge deal.  Looking at the house it's nice to finally be able to start the year fresh.  No New Years resolutions for me.  I always feel like if you want to do it, you just do it, so I'm going to continue enjoying life and spending as much time with family as we can.  Trying to take care of myself and have some alone time to give myself some sanity and really just trying to be healthy while enjoying life as much as I can.  And just try to survive!  Happy New Year!
